So.

After getting spotty sleep, spending 9 out of 12 hours at work on a conference call with the offshore IT equivalent of the Three Stooges, grooming the dog and driving for almost 2 hours in pre-dawn rain, fog and crap, I made it back for Christmas.  All in all, it was pretty nice.  Little Dude got a singing car (which will loose its batteries once it returns home, I assure you), some books and a fold-up Matchbox construction play-set.  All pretty neat and not TOO much additional clutter.  The Wif got some nice cookware stuff (I'm assuming, I have no clue) and some kinda inspirational book.

And I got a nice Kingston 2Gb flash drive.  Which promptly wiped my other drive and now my work laptop (which has EVERYTHING) won't boot.  Since the tech support all moved offshore, I was able to call it in (oh the irony), but who knows if anything can be salvaged.  If it can, great.  If not...  well.  I have copies of all the software I added at the house, as well as all my bookmarks.  The majority of my stories and artwork are saved as well.

But damn.  Kind of a bummer. I've installed Firefox on the Wif's laptop, but I'm afraid to even attempt using the USB drive now.... which has some of that saved artwork.  Thankfully Little Dude woke up at 4am so I haven't had the frame of mind to be that upset about it anymore.

FELIZ NAVIDAD!
