2) Italicise those you intend to read (strikethrough ones you hate!)
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ

Wow, I've read 23 of these and seen the movies to a number more.  It's almost like I'm educated or something!

Don't worry, I'll actually have something of more substance up later this weekend, but for now... marvel at this:

What Tarot Card is Your Leading Card?

Your leading card is Justice! Your leading sign is Libra. You believe in equality, and always try to stop injustice wherever you see it. People know that, no matter how close a problem is to you, you will always turn up a fair solution. You are very honest, sometimes to the point of bluntness. Unfairness frustrates you, and you always try to keep your life in perfect balance. You are something of a perfectionist, and are, while not always particularly nice, very wise. Be careful not to be too direct, or people may see you as simply cruel rather than fair.

So sleepy...

here's a meme-ish thing.

You scored as Cultural Creative. Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.

I was just not ready to get up this morning...

Normally, when Little Dude rolls out of bed, I'm able to wake up and at least match him stride for stride in ability, if not enthusiasm. But today, I'm just now starting to shake the cobwebs from me brainmeats.

Had a cool time last night, hanging with J and T. Got to be old men complaining about the impending delinquency of our youth when we couldn't get open terminals at the local LAN cafe. Watched The Weatherman at the dollar theatre and was inundated by the word "cameltoe" nigh constantly. And we also got to see some rednecks pull over, hop out of their car and start beating each other up. A manly time was had by all.

And now the quizzes! )

Ha.

100 Things About Me That You Don't Really Care About, You Selfish Meanies )
doc_destructo: (Default)
That's right, motherfuckers. I'm a friggin:

Sociopath
You are 85% Rational, 14% Extroverted, 71% Brutal, and 85% Arrogant.

You are the Sociopath! As a result of your cold, calculating
rationality, your introversion (and ability to keep quiet), your
brutality, and your arrogance, you would make a very cunning serial
killer. You care very little for the feelings of others, possibly
because you are not a very emotional person. You are also very
calculating and intelligent, making you a perfect criminal mastermind.
Also, you are a very arrogant person, tending to see yourself as better
than others, providing you a strong ability to perceive others as weak
little animals, thus making it easier to kill them. In short, your
personality defect is the fact that you could easily be a sociopath,
because you are calculating, unemotional, brutal, and arrogant. Please
don't kill me for writing mean things about you!

To put it less negatively:

1. You are more RATIONAL than intuitive.

2. You are more INTROVERTED than extroverted.

3. You are more BRUTAL than gentle.

4. You are more ARROGANT than humble.

Compatibility:

Your exact opposite is the Hippie.

Other personalities you would probably get along with are the Spiteful Loner, the Smartass, and the Capitalist Pig.

*

If you scored near fifty percent for a certain trait (42%-58%), you
could very well go either way. For example, someone with 42%
Extroversion is slightly leaning towards being an introvert, but is
close enough to being an extrovert to be classified that way as well.
Below is a list of the other personality types so that you can
determine which other possible categories you may fill if you scored
near fifty percent for certain traits.

The other personality types:

The Emo Kid: Intuitive, Introverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Starving Artist: Intuitive, Introverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Bitch-Slap: Intuitive, Introverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Brute: Intuitive, Introverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Hippie: Intuitive, Extroverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Televangelist: Intuitive, Extroverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Schoolyard Bully: Intuitive, Extroverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Class Clown: Intuitive, Extroverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Robot: Rational, Introverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Haughty Intellectual: Rational, Introverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Spiteful Loner: Rational, Introverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Sociopath: Rational, Introverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Hand-Raiser: Rational, Extroverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Braggart: Rational, Extroverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Capitalist Pig: Rational, Extroverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Smartass: Rational, Extroverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

Wow. Another year gone by and I'm still not a millionaire. But on the plus side, I've been having a great weekend with just me and the Wif. Kiddo's staying with my mom and youngest brother in the H-ville digs. On the whole, I gotta say it's been a fun birthday weekend.

Spent about an hour at "Lincoln Days" with Kiddo and mom watching a parade and wrestling with my wee bairne. Got some swell books: Anansi Boys, Thud! and The Figure in Motion. Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett and a buncha nekkid people running around. What more could you ask out of a birthday? Well, I also finally bowelled a game over 100 points. In fact, my first game kicked muy mucho ass. I know it's only 123, but hey, 2 strikes and 3 spares are really good for me.

LJ Interests meme results

  1. books:
Fiction. I loves me some fiction. I was hooked on Stephen King's The Dark Tower epic before it was popular. I also like the humorous fiction: Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Chris Moore and Jasper Fforde ROCK!
  2. comicbooks:
I am a comicbook geek. I like some of the iconic heroes (Batman, Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk) as well as the stuff that really explores what you can do with a mixture of pictures and words (Maus, SiP, Understanding Comics).
  3. computers:
For me, tinkering with computers is like tinkering with cars, only I actually know stuff and there's none of the grease involved.
  4. illustration:
I love to draw. I'm not always very good, but it's always fun and a great way for me to be creative and really focus my brain.
  5. movies:
Exact opposite of illustration. I like eye-candy as well as good stories. Even the stuff I didn't think I liked, I find myself wanting to see. For instance, I never thought I'd care for Westerns (and largely I don't but some have been growing on me). And in the other vein, I never thought there'd be a King Arthur movie I didn't like (but there are TWO! What's wrong with those people?!).
  6. writing:
I'll admit I harbor delusions of one day being able to craft something that has a beginning, a middle and an end. But mostly I just like tossing out ideas to see what's sticks and what hasn't been done before (or at least to death, ya know?).

Gah! So, I was like totally elated that I'd finally figured out a workable floorplan for the setting of the Batman mini-comic-thingy. Then, because Little Dude had been fairly quiet for a while, I decided to peek into his room.

I shouldn't have done that. It was foolish. Foolfardy. Making of me a gianourmous fool.

Because Little Dude had not only had his poo, as I suspected he might have. Oh no. He had managed to hard pack into the floor (thank the gods for hardwood floors!) until it was like a layer of friggin' asphalt and I had to spend a good 20 - 30 minutes scrubbing the floor just to get most of it up. It still smells in there, so there will undoubtedly required another go-over with a better mop.

ARGH.
