So, I've dropped my May novel ambition. While a great many factors contributed, I'd have to say that the biggest was apathy. I just didn't care enough to scrimp and scrape every last bit of free time to work on it. It also didn't help that work's gotten a lot busier so that killed a good number of my available free hours.

I ALSO dropped that Small Press Idol contest entry. That wasn't so much apathy as... I dunno, but the characters of Dr. Destructo and Lucy and Little Des and the rest just seem too important, ya know? I'm a little too attached to them. I probably should've just opted for a whole new idea rather than trying mine from something a little too personal.

In other news, finances are looking a little grim. Largely because another collections agency seems to have purchased our old roommate's trucking school debt. We'll see how that turns out, but I'm adamant about not coughing $14K for someone else's irresponsibility. God only knows how much I've "loaned" Evan over the years, but I'd like to think there's a difference between family and raging fucktard.

Lessee... the other day I picked up a new drawing tablet and spiral-bound sketchbook. Not that I was in immediate danger of running out of paper, but something to get me into the swing of drawing again. Little pick-me-ups and the like. I've been doing small Naruto sketches here and there. I've also dusted off all the old "How to Watercolor" books and I'm going to start doing the exercises in them... ON MY WACOM! Hopefully that'll provide some good practice.

Little Dude's last day of school was today, so I know the Wif will probably be stretched ultra-thin this summer. Fortunately, the HR people have approved paying 80% of all his speech and group therapies. I'll need to get the private pre-school paperwork together, but I think they'll approved that as well. Paying 20% still won't be inexpensive, but hey, it's a lot cheaper than the whole 100%.

Hmmm... maybe after my next mid-month paycheck I can finally get a new domain and host. I have a feeling not being able to post pictures has lead to my decline in both drawing and posting to me ol' LJ.

Indeed...

What Tarot Card is Your Leading Card?

Your leading card is Justice! Your leading sign is Libra. You believe in equality, and always try to stop injustice wherever you see it. People know that, no matter how close a problem is to you, you will always turn up a fair solution. You are very honest, sometimes to the point of bluntness. Unfairness frustrates you, and you always try to keep your life in perfect balance. You are something of a perfectionist, and are, while not always particularly nice, very wise. Be careful not to be too direct, or people may see you as simply cruel rather than fair.
