The New Look

When asked what, exactly, I had been up to on my oh-so envious week off work, I was a little strapped for comments.

Oh sure, I'd spent a great deal of time with Little Dude, specifically the transforming and untransforming of an airplane to robot and vice versa (Jetfire for those in the geeky know). I'd also been hunting for a new leg for Optimus Prime, who'd earlier fallen victim to the not-quite tender mercies of my son. Thankfully, the owner of a local comic store has some spares that he's willing to sell me on the cheap. Well... maybe cheap. Here's hoping.
We entertained the Dizwan during her stay here last weekend. I've "procured" the first two seasons of Jem and the Holograms for ne_today (and been informed of just how smashed one would get by following just one of the drinking game rules for that show...). I also had Tuesday evening to myself and went to support the local stand-up scene for their summer competition. There was much funny to be had.
Not to mention the re-introduction of potty training to the Little Dude. Since he has mild-to-moderate hearing loss and hyposensitivity vestibular integration dysfunction, whenever the Wife and I have voiced concerns over the Little Man's reluctance to potty training, most of the specialists and therapists all sort of nodded and just said, "Considering how his senses work, just keep trying without making it into something he'll resent. Oh, and he goes fine at school." Great for them. But this week, since ne_today 's back was out of commission and I had a great deal of time, we decided to get some commercially pleasing underwear for the Little Dude (nothing says MAN like Spidey and Batman on your crotch and ass) and another potty. The results, while slow in the beginning but after about 5 days of it, he's averaging about half of his bathroom breaks on the potty and now acknowledges when he goes. Yay progress.
But perhaps the most time-intensive thing I've done this past week was re-do my art wall. The "art wall" is the wall facing my drawing desk and I'd previously had a great deal of clipped art from magazines, comics and books on it for inspiration. Well, a couple weeks ago I was looking at it and realized it hadn't been doing its job. I knew every damned picture and clip up there without looking. It was blah. So I took it all down and put up some new stuff. Below are pictures with and without commentary (I may do a before and after post if I can find a picture of the original art wall configuration). And now that I've got some web space of my very own, I can actually post them.
Without comments:

And with comments:

It should be noted there's a considerable amount of color that's been added to the wall to help me stop working in just black and white. There are also more hot chicks on it. Make of that what you will.
